Alison started flying in 2004, and got her licence in 2005. She flies in the Surrey Hills when at home, and attend as many international meetings as possible every year.

David took up ballooning 12 years ago after a wedding anniversary commercial flight. He became addicted to competing which he enjoy - even if not with great success. He has flown a lot in France (Balloon over La Loire) and has also flown in Thailand.

34. Ben Alford - Bristol, UK

Ben has been building and flying model balloons for three years despite being only 15 years old. He won bronze at the 2009 European Model Ballooning competition, Germany and in April won the Breitling President's Trophy from the Royal Aero Club.

Max is Ben’s younger brother but has already notched up two years of flying experience with model balloons. He will be competing later this year in Germany against Ben at the Brigachtal based
European model balloon championships.
